How can we help?
The most common questions, from your account and events to safety and Chax+.

Getting started
What is Chax?
Chax is a social app that helps you meet people nearby through shared interests and get together in real life. You can create or join events, share your active mode and chat with people you match with.
Who can use Chax?
Chax is only for people aged 18 or over who can legally use the service where they live. If local law sets a higher age limit, that limit applies.
Where can I download the app?
Chax is coming soon to the App Store and Google Play. We’ll announce the launch here and on our social accounts.
Is Chax free?
The basic account is free. Chax+ and some extra digital benefits may be paid; the current scope and prices are shown on the purchase screen.
How do I create an account? My code never arrived.
Enter your email in the app and verify your account with the 6-digit code we send you; your email is never shown on your profile. If the code doesn’t arrive, check your spam folder, and if you requested a new code, use the latest one.
Events
When does my event show up in Discover?
Events are published directly by default and appear in Discover straight away if they meet the discovery requirements. If you turned on “Moderation review” while creating it, the event is published in Discover once the review team approves it, and you can use a promotion credit after that. Events set to “Access via link” aren’t listed in Discover; only people with the link can open them.
How does QR check-in work?
When you arrive, show the QR ticket in the app; the host or a co-host scans it to confirm your check-in. A verified check-in is needed to leave a review, add photos to the event album and earn points.
Who organises events? Does Chax sell tickets?
Unless stated otherwise, the organiser is the member who created the event and is responsible for the venue, time, conditions and any fee. Chax is not a party to events, a ticket seller or an intermediary for payments between members.
What can a co-host do?
A co-host can manage participants, event details, check-ins and the group chat together with the host.
What happens to the event group chat?
Every event has a group chat. Some time after the event ends the chat is archived, and you can still read the message history.
People and matching
What is active mode?
Active mode lets you share what you’re up for right now. You choose the category you appear in, how long it stays on and who can see it, and people who want the same thing can find you in Discover.
How does matching work?
Matching is mutual: when you both like each other, a chat opens between you. Taking part in matching is a separate setting you can keep off.
Where are my chats?
Chats with your connections, matches and event groups live in one place and can be sorted with a single tap.
What is meetup verification?
If you met a match in person, you can start verification; the other person also needs to respond. If your answers don’t match, the meetup isn’t verified.
Profile, badges and AI
How does photo verification work?
Photo verification is optional. Authorised staff compare the selfie you send with your profile photo, and if it’s approved a trust badge appears next to your name. A submitted selfie is queued for deletion 30 days after a decision or after the session closes. Verification does not guarantee legal identity.
What is an AI summary? Why don’t I have one yet?
If you allow AI analysis, short summaries about you are created from the traits you chose and community feedback from events and dates. Summaries are only created once there is enough feedback. Your private messages and name are not sent with the summary request. Whether to allow the analysis, and who sees the summaries, is entirely your choice.
What if my AI summary is wrong?
AI summaries are estimates and can be wrong. You can give feedback on your summary and ask for the source reviews to be checked; reviews hidden after a check are left out of later calculations.
How do I earn badges and points?
By actually attending events and having your check-in confirmed, hosting events completed with at least two checked-in guests, exploring different categories and reviewing events you attended. Sending a join request alone does not earn points.
Where do movie, show and book details come from?
Movie and TV details come from TMDB and book details from Open Library. Your profile and messages are never sent to these services for catalogue lookups.
Safety and privacy
How do I report or block someone?
Use the report tools in the app to flag content, behaviour and reviews, and block accounts you don’t want to hear from. Blocking and reporting are different actions: if you want a possible rule violation reviewed, report it as well as blocking. Safety reports are reviewed confidentially and the other person is not notified. You can see accounts you’ve blocked in your settings. See Reporting and Appeals for the process and how to appeal.
What should I keep in mind when meeting someone?
Make your own safety decisions about the place, the time and what personal details you share, and choose busy, familiar places for first meetups. In an emergency, call your local emergency number first, then report it in the app. There’s more advice in Safer Connections and Meetups.
Who can see my profile?
You choose separately who sees your profile, your city, height, weight and lifestyle details, your upcoming events and your AI summaries. Turning one on doesn’t turn on the others. A preview shows how your profile looks to others.
My account was restricted. What should I do?
Follow decisions and updates about your account in the Moderation Center in the app. To ask for a decision to be reviewed, write to [email protected] with your account email and a short explanation; see Reporting and Appeals for details.
Is my data sold?
No. We don’t sell user data to third parties for advertising. Our Privacy Policy explains what we process, why, and which service providers we work with.
Account and Chax+
How do I delete my account?
Start a deletion request from your account settings in the app. You then have 15 days to cancel; after that your account and personal data are permanently deleted. If you’re hosting upcoming events, you need to cancel or complete them first. If you just need a break, you can freeze your account for a set period instead.
Can I get a copy of my data?
Yes. Request a data archive in the app and your profile, preferences and content are prepared as a secure ZIP file. The archive is deleted after 14 days and the download link is valid for 10 minutes.
What is Chax+ and how do I cancel it?
Chax+ is a paid subscription that may be offered monthly, every three months or yearly. You manage and cancel it from the Apple or Google account you bought it with; after cancelling you keep access until the end of the paid period. Deleting your account or the app does not cancel the subscription.
My Chax+ purchase isn’t showing.
Verifying a purchase can take a few minutes. If it still doesn’t show, refresh your subscription status in the app or use “Restore purchases”. If the problem continues, write to [email protected].
I’m not getting notifications.
Besides your notification preferences in the app, you need to allow notifications for Chax in your phone’s settings. Turning off phone notifications keeps in-app notifications. Account security notifications can’t be turned off.
How do I stop promotional messages?
Use the relevant preference in the app or the opt-out method in a message, or write to [email protected]. In Türkiye you can also manage your choices through İYS. Declining promotions doesn’t stop necessary service messages such as security, sign-in or purchase notices. See Commercial Messages for details.
Can I see which devices I’m signed in on?
Yes. In your account settings you can see the devices signed in to your account and sign out of every device except the one you’re using.
Didn’t find what you need?
Email us about your account, events, safety tools or purchases. For account matters, include your registered email address, and never send your password or verification code.
Write to [email protected] In immediate danger, contact local emergency or law-enforcement services first; Chax is not an emergency hotline.
